TRUE PURPOSE OF EDUCATION

Why are we getting educated? What for? What is the real purpose of our education?

Our present day education system merely paves way to get distinction, to get a better job, to enhance the status, to claim domination and superiority over others, to accumulate wealth and to attain what is called a "prestigious" status. Most of us, even if we attain all these, still groom in shallow and emptiness. Why is that happening?

Our education system stands as the predominant reason. It does not teach us to integrate with our own Self, what is really wanted for us and what is not. Even a person who obtained doctorates, is feeling very difficult to  integrate with his thoughts and emotions.

Our education system more directs a person in so called "safe lifestyle" and making him to believe that he will get all happiness and contentment only in the directed channels. It not allowing him to think beyond predetermined frontiers. A person who succumbed to the channelized compulsion of the education pattern and the so called society, decides to travel in the safe road, the road that is being traveled by millions of people. He gets numerous co-travelers whom he can befriend, compete, deceit, dominate, succumb, overtake, drag. The main idea is to gain wealth, fame, pride, supremacy, dominance, exercise influence over others and satisfy what he thinks as the "Inner Self".

Our education system does not permit him to realize that what he is trying to satisfy in not the real "Inner Self" but his own "EGO". And the truth is that "EGO" can only be satisfied temporarily and never be completely satisfied. So again after achieving one milestone, he is compelled to go for the next level. So till his death, he is always in hunt of one thing or other, and at a stage too late for him, he realizes that he has not been accomplishing the purpose of his birth.

Since right from the childhood, we are used to read books, see pictures and get knowledge only by external perceptions, most of us do not have knowledge related to internal aspects.

Why I have taken birth?
What for the one sperm won the race of the millions and create us?
Have we won such a big race only to study books, get job that enslaves us for money, marry and produce offspring, build a home for us, buy car and other goods, accumulate for our next generation and die?
Why the nature has been so kind to us to create us with an able body and an efficient brain?
If there is a stereotyped lifestyle prescribed, why the world is so big?
All plants and animals have helped the evolution process. Only few out-of-box thinkers have given the world we are living now. Then what for others have born?
If I am not useful to Earth, why is it bearing me?
I am taking air water and food to be alive only from this nature. What am I giving it back? Or we human beings are only takers?

Like this, so many questions die unanswered with the death of every person who has lived a stereotyped life prescribed by the society. If our education really encourages question and answer pattern, it should have first prompted everyone of us to find answers to these type of questions.

Whatever wealth he accumulates and whatever position he is, one never gets fulfillment unless he finds his purpose of birth and accomplishes it. So our education system has to be redefined to orient the students more inwards and guide them in the path of their true destiny.

But who is going to train the students? How many trainers available in the nation? With such a materialistic mind, people who talk about reality might be looked at as aliens.

MIRACLE

"Miracle will happen only where there is Faith and Effort"

A Miracle may be simply defined as a happening which is considered almost impossible. People pray for Miracles to happen in their life. Most Miracles do not happen as there is always a stint of fear of failure in the subconscious Mind. Prayers with Fear are not answered by the Omnipresent Power.

Talking about Miracle, the article will be incomplete if I do not narrate a wonderful story which I read.

"In a small town, there was a little girl of 8 years. She belonged to a poor family where her father was a carpenter. She had a little brother whom she loved so much. Misery stuck the poor family, when the little brother was diagnosed of having a brain tumor. The poor family met the treatment expenses by reducing their needs. They shifted to a still smaller house, ate only one meal a day and sold some old household items.

A stage came when surgery became inevitable for the little boy. The family needed huge money for the surgery but left with only patty amount. The little girl heard her mother saying "Only some Miracle can save the boy". The little girl thought "Miracle" as a kind of medicine that can save her little brother. So before going to bed she prayed God that she has to get "Miracle" somehow to save her brother.

The next morning, she opened her coin collection and found 1 dollar and 11 cents. She took the coins and ran to the nearby town where there was one acclaimed Medical store. She went to the store and found the owner conversing with another man. with no time to wait, she interrupted the discussion and asked "I need Miracle to save my little brother. Is it available in your store?"

The store owner was puzzled but understood that the girl is in some emergency. He politely replied that "Miracle cannot be obtained in stores my dear". The Girl did not lose her heart, "I have 1 dollar and 11 cents. If you want I ll arrange for little more. But somehow get me the 'Miracle'"

The person who was conversing with the store owner looked sharply at the Girl, patted her cheeks and uttered promising words "You need 'Miracle'! Come! Take me to your home! I ll cure your little brother. My fee shall be 1 dollar 11 cents."

The little girl did not know that the man was a famous Surgeon in the country known for his highest success rate in surgery. What has happened next need not be explained.

It should be learned from this story that what mattered is the immense, undoubted Faith the little Girl had towards getting the "Miracle" and the effort she took to somehow get that.

So whoever puts untiring effort at a goal with unshaken faith in Himself and the Almighty, he can expect a "Miracle"!!
